Clinical data:
Aneurysma of the aortic arch max diameter 65 mm, arterial hypertension, COPD, diabetes mellitus type II, obesity

CT:
65 mm aneurysm, origin of left subclavian artery within aneurysm

Procedural steps:
1. sternotomy
2. selective antegrade perfusion of the supraaortic arteries via right axillary artery
3. Replacement of the descending aorta and distal aortic arch (Frozen Elephant Trunk)
4. Arch reconstruction

JOTEC present at the 28th Charing Cross Symposium in London, 2006, April 8th-11th! One focus of the congress was the thoracic aorta so that our E-vita TAA stentgraft as well as our E-vita hybrid stentgraft prosthesis produced great interest. But also the standard prostheses especially the FlowLine Bipore Heparin ePTFE graft have been in great demand.

Ulf Herold, MD, West German Heart Center, gave a scientific lecture on implantation experiences with E-vita open at the Brazilian Congress of Cardiovascular Surgery in Salvador de Bahia, Brazil, 2006, March 29th-April 1st. The presentation was given to 120 interested cardiac surgeons within the context of a satellite symposium. During one hour Dr. Herold showed impressively the advantages of the new operation method using the E-vita open.
